We Pray That R. Kelly Doesnt Get Jailed For Not Coming Up With His Bail Money
The RnB sensational singer R. Kelly has recently been having multiple problems, but first let’s say that he’s still got his fans support and love.
I as one, i’ve been in love with the songs from the singer right from the ’90s.
For some months now, “The Storm Is Over” crooner has been facing the possibility of bagging jail time if he gets convicted of the charges against him, including sexual abuse.
After the last court sitting, the presiding judge asked the rapper to produce a sum of money on bail, but because of R. Kelly’s financial position currently, he has not been able to produce such amount.
The rapper was reportedly said to had slept in jail after failing to produce the required amount, to the tone of $100,000, required to be brought to court (in cash) to make his bail on Sunday afternoon.
It was actually required of the singer to pay 10% of A million dollar dollar bond, making it a total of $250,000 for each of the reported victims of the sexual harassment case.
Kelly’s lawyer had claimed that the artiste does not currently have such amount to earn his freedom citing some problems including; “mismanagement,” “bad deals” & “hangers-on”.
In Kelly’s attorney’s words, he said; “He’s trying to get it together”, “but he doesn’t have it sitting in the bank.”
R. Kelly Might Be Jailed For Not Coming Up With Bail Money
A section of Kelly’s money problems comes from his inability to pay for his child support, the statement was from court documents reported by CNN, It says below;
Kelly owed more than $169,000 in unpaid child support to his ex-wife as of February 6.The court ordered Kelly to make a monthly payment of $20,833 on January 8, 2009, but Kelly failed to show up to that hearing, per court documents. To avoid being held in contempt of court, a judge ordered he pay $161,663 by March 6.
Greenberg told CNN his client “does not have to pay the child support before getting out.”
“The state is trying to make him do that, or they were,” Greenberg said, “but the judge said no.”
The rapper is also currently facing rent payment challenges, most especially with his studio at Chicago as reported, the rapper is facing the possibility of being evicted from the place due to inability to pay rent. The rent money sums up to over $166,000.
